Dear Family Members:

It has been a busy week. In class we are working on: Our Reading Theme "Look At Us"- - Drawing our self-portrait, name writing, color recognition, and listening comprehension. In Math- -Top, Middle, Bottom/ Above, Below/Before, After- Counting to 10.

The students are adjusting really well to school. They know how to get their napkin, fork and plate without any accidents. They know where to go during their class routines. I am so Proud of them! They deserve a "Great Big Hug!" for their hard work!!! They have truly been "Shining Stars" this week.

The students have been going to Literacy Lab. They love it! They are divided into small groups, where they have hands-on activities learning kindergarten skills. Everyday, they get to go to a different center. This is where I get to see each student in a smaller setting and monitor their academic growth. I can find skills they need more help in and match them up with the appropriate center to reinforce that skill. Mrs. Carol manages the Literacy Lab to assist the other groups. WOW!

Short Note: Please discuss with your child the following playground safety rules- such as no running, no contact, slide on your "bottom" only, balls only in the ball pit, gravel stays on the ground and not in our hands, keep sand in the sand tub, and one person on the balance beams at a time. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the snacks some of you are sending to share with the class. We truly appreciate it!! You are Super Parents!! (We have 19 students in our class.)
