Reading
*** Test tomorrow on
fables!
This week
we are finishing fables and beginning to work on some short plays.
Each child will have a copy of the play, which they will practice in
class. The groups will present for each other and students
will be graded on participating in our daily activities, practices, &
performance.
Performances will be during our reading classes on Monday and Tuesday
of next week.
Please encourage reading
at
least 10 minutes every day!

Writing/Language
*** Test tomorrow on common & proper nouns!
This week we will
discuss singular & plural nouns. A singular noun is one person, one
place, or one thing. A plural noun is more than one person, more than
one place, or more than one thing. Most plural nouns are made by
adding s. Words that end in x, s, ch, & sh form the plural by adding
es.
Test non plurals
next Tuesday.

Word Work
This
week we will focus on the FSZL rule. In a one syllable word, f, s, z,
and l are doubled after the vowel. Some examples of this pattern are:
buzz, stuff, kiss, and well
*Look
for your child’s list that we make together in class for more
examples.
